Today’s session regarding talent management was very important. Because in Pakistan, though we are managing talent but we are trying to do this remaining in paper based environment. The most difficult task for us is to keep people motivated according to their talents. No doubt, Pakistan has a lot of natural talent but the problem is we do not asses it properly and moreover, even if the talent is assessed it is not utilized properly. If using right tools such as TMA, we identify their inner potential and talent it is quite probable that we are able to place them properly and make the most use of their talents. I have done my own TMA assessment and it was surprisingly very correct. I might not explain some of my own characteristics with complete clarity in the way this assessment has. They were surprising results in a proper documented form and I feel if more work is done on these talents this tool can work wonders for me.

The overall experience was very good because it is the first time that I am attending a certification program and the overall tool regarding the competency and the behavioral competencies is very effective. I am looking after the Talent Management portfolio so that would be a really useful tool for me. I am fully excited to implement this tool in my organization, with the job profiling and competencies profiling would be a great addition to the organization. All of the participants are very good, they all are senior bankers and are from different organizations and institutes; I am enjoying a good relation with them in these 2 days and plan to continue with this connection with them in the near future as well.

I am pleased to have learned a lot in terms of talent management and the practical aspect of it because it has always been a challenge liking talent with performance management that you have in your organization and you know the succession planning. So I think with this 2 days course which we are going through right now will be able to actually asses talent when we are hiring people from an intake perspective specially form existing lot which would help us develop a productive workforce. Talent is always related to high performance or high performing individuals. With this program at least I have learned that everybody has a talent which if properly placed in a job can be utilized in a better way for the organization. Linking the required profile with the current incumbent and with the kind of competencies he/she has got and matching it with the kind of competencies we are looking for. So at the end of the day we will be able to pinpoint the skill and the competence gap which is actually for a particular job. This could help us in developing and managing people in a better way. Lots of qualifications and certifications were available if you are living abroad, but in Pakistan you don’t have that kind of recognitions or recognized programs which were not there before. Brining top consultants to Pakistan and webinars will actually help to develop this gap which was prevailing for quite number of years.
